Blue Whale – The Largest Animal Ever Existed!
The blue whale (Balaenoptera musculus) is a marine well evolved creature having a place with the baleen whales (Mysticeti).[3] At up to 30 meters (98 ft)[4][5] long and with a most extreme recorded weight of 173 tons (191 short tons)[5][6] and presumably coming to more than 181 tons (200 short tons), it is the biggest creature known to have ever existed.[7][8]
Long and slim, the blue whale’s body can be different shades of pale blue dark dorsally and to some degree lighter underneath.[9] There are no less than three unmistakable subspecies: B. m. musculus of the North Atlantic and North Pacific, B. m. intermedia of the Southern Ocean and B. m. brevicauda (otherwise called the dwarf blue whale) found in the Indian Ocean and South Pacific Ocean. B. m. indica, found in the Indian Ocean, might be another subspecies. Likewise with other baleen whales, its eating routine comprises solely of little shellfish known as krill.[10]
